pinky and my brain: earth day

so earth day was last week. we tried to think of things we could do to be eco friendly...but instead i'm pretty sure we ate on paper plates. we ran by the idea of planting a tree, but with my brown thumb i thought it would do more harm than good to buy a tree, plant it, and kill it than it would if we just didn't plant one at all. really wish i were not a murderer of living green things...but no matter what i do they cease to thrive...or live. so we have fake plants. anyways, i love the environment and all of its beauty. i am one of those people who doesn't like litter, and usually picks it up if i see a garbage can near by (and am not 8 months pregnant). and that is my little contribution to the world, picking up trash. but you know who must really hate the environment? qwest. the past couple of months i cannot believe how much crap comes in our mailbox from them. and it's not like a little flyer here and there,it's like every day. and the other day, i received a manila envelope with papers and papers of enticing lies and fancy letterhead saying nothing at all except for they want my business. and I felt guilty throwing the whole thing away and wasting all that paper. just awful. (ps. we had qwest a couple of years ago and they were the worst! every bill that came was like $50 more than our 'fixed plan'...and don't get me started on their customer service.) why do people even send you that crap? if you need the service, you'll find them yeah??

anyway, happy earth day from the smiths, not qwest.
