Tthe CRAZIEST thing happened to Alma on Friday! Alma got a root canal started 2 years ago from our family Dentist in Las Vegas Dr. Bowman (My dad is an orthodontist and has done trade with Dr. Bowman...so basically we get free dental work for life). We never finished the root canal because we were never in Vegas at the right time and there for long enough. SO...off and on Alma's tooth gives him problems, but with a little home surgery/Alma playing dentist he fixes it and we go on with life. 2 weeks ago Alma's whole face started to hurt and so I called in a favor from our Dentist friend that used to be the high councilman in our old ward. He got Alma in that day and said that he had pushed it as far as he could have possibly pushed it...there was bone loss, and things were not looking good...he needed to have the root canal done ASAP. So we decided we had to suck it up and pay the money to get it done (around $650...boo!) Alma had his appointment this last Friday and when they went in to do it said that his tooth was basically non-salvageable and that he would have to see an Endodontist (one who specializes in root canals) to get it done (and it would cost $1,000) or get a tooth implant ($2,400)!! Holy Moly! So Alma called me up on the phone to see what he should do. We opted for neither one of those and told them to just extract it!! I was totally reminded of this guy...when I saw this I thought it was funny, but it had become our life!! :) So they pulled the sucker out for 100 bucks and now he just has a big hole where his molar was! Luckily we have the best dad ever and he's going to make Alm a retainer with a tooth on it, haha!! I guess it's a good thing they pulled it out and didn't try to save it because he had all sorts of nasty disease stuff and a cyst down there...eeeeww!! Not that you wanted to know all of that, but that's what's been going on in our lives lately. Whilst waiting for the tooth on a retainer to get to us, Alma jokes that now he has extra food storage. Hope that tooth gets here soon :)

So this dentist who does root canals wouldn't want to do one for andy while we are out there would he. Our dentist charges 1600 bucks. We have been putting it of for so long now because that is just way too much. Maybe Andy will have to be Alma's twin and get his pulled too - but I'm sure thats no fun wither. Poor Alm... we won't laugh to hard when we see you and think - hey, I thought we were out of South Carolina.
